[보건·의료] “칠레 암치료를 위한 의료기기 부족”
▪ 칠레보건부에 따르면, 칠레에는 암전문의사 및 암치료의료장비가 절대적 부족한 것으로 발표
공공의료시설에는 암 치료에 필요한 장비의 절반이 부족한 상황으로, 전체 공공의료시설 중 55%가 암 검진, 진단 및 치료에 필요한 장비가 부족한 것으로 실태 파악
▪ 암진단 부족 장비에 관하여 보다 자세히 살펴보면,
- 공공의료시설에 화학요법(chemotherapy chairs)의자의 경우 전체 667개가 필요한 반면, 287개의 의자가 있으며
- 유방조영술 장비의 경우, 전체 필요장비의 25%만 충족
- 자기공영상(MRI)의 경우, 61개의 장비가 필요함에도 불구 18개의 장비만 충족
▪ 위와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해, 칠레 보건부는 암진단장비 구입을 위한 CanceNational Plan 추진 중, 이 계획에 따르면 2028년에는 암진단에 필요한 72%의 장비가 구비될 예정

▪ MERCOSUR* 국가들은 장기이식환자들을 위한 의약품 대량구매를 통한 가격 할인
* MERCOSUR(남미공동시장): 남미전체국가 GDP의 52% 차지하는 지역경제공동체로 회원국(4개국, 아르헨티나, 브라질, 파라과이 및 우루과이)으로 구성
- Tacrolimus 면역억제제는 PAHO*의 전략기금으로 구매 예정이며, 대량구매로 인한 예산의 50%를 절감했다고 밝힘
* WHO의 지역사무소로 전염병 관리와 방역 등의 의견교환을 위해서 설립된 기구
▪ 대량구매로 인한 이득은 시민들의 보편적 접근 향상 및 각 나라의 보건의료체계 급여에서 지급 가능
- 의약품 구매는 높은 단가 때문에 각 국가의 보건의료체계에 중요한 지표로 잡히고 있으므로, 향후 MERCOSUR는 의약품 대량구매의 가능성을 더욱 높임으로 공공의료정책을 강화 목표
