Development of a humanoid Physical AI surgical assistant robot system for creating an efficient surgical environment

(PAIR-S : Physical AI Interactive Robot-Surgery)

Goal

Development of a surgical assistant robot system that interacts with medical staff in the operating room, performs repetitive tasks and customized assistive actions, and intelligently understands and responds to the medical staff's commands

Problem

Limitations in providing timely local treatment due to a shortage of medical personnel in operating rooms relative to the rapid increase in patients needing surgery and regional imbalances in surgical infrastructure resources

Innovation

On-site integrated application of humanoid H/W with a structure similar to the human upper body + Physical AI equipped with contextual understanding of surgical stages and action planning + HRI (Human-Robot Interaction)

Utilization

Improving operating room work efficiency and precision and reducing the burden on medical personnel
