Summary

* The Plate&Screw system developed using “bio-material” which is made of bio-degradable (or bio-absorbable) metal * This implant system is used in surgical procedure of diaplasis (or fracture subdual) and upon cure it is absorbed in vivo.

Remarkable

* Implant developed using a high-strength bio-absorbable metallic material * A new concept implant, which overcomes the drawbacks of existing bio-metal and bio-absorbable polymer materials, is used in fracture inosculation (osteosynthesis), which requires no subsequent removal surgery. * Most established implants made of non-absorbable metal, ceramic or polymers, require subsequent implant removal surgery in many cases, which adds to a patients’ pain and discomfort. * Implants made of a biodegradable high polymer are sometimes used, but it has been reported that such implants have low performance in parts experiencing load and that they can lead to side effects due to bad bio-compatibility.
