In an initiative to increase vaccination coverage in the country, which last year fell below the target of 18 of the 19 vaccines in the official calendar, the Brazilian Ministry of Health today launched (20) a hackathon at Campus Party, the biggest technological immersion event of the country that occurs in the capital, Brasília.

The challenge launched by the ministry goal is to develop an idea that helps to facilitate the control and extend the reach of vaccination through technology. It is expected that some 6,000 program participants will be willing to take on this challenge, which can develop solutions to improve user access to health facilities, collect information on social networking, and work on data mining.

The Ministry states that the winning proposal will have its implementation studied.
